The CHEVRON ISLAND BUSINESS AND RESIDENTS ASSOCIATION was established with the prime objective of providing its members with benefits that would enhance their business opportunities and improve the working environment of the locality and represent the interests of CHEVRON ISLAND.
Previously known as CHEVRON ISLAND TRADERS ASSOCIATION which has been serving businesses on Chevron Island for many years and continues to be the heart and soul of what we do today. Our association has now been expanded to include all the residents of CHEVRON ISLAND (renters and owners/including CRONIN ISLAND) We provide our members and the business community with enabling services that assist them to manage their own businesses, support the community and promote the area.
To support the overall strategy plan for CHEVRON ISLAND this project is vital for the continued future of the island as we move forward. CIBRA understands the importance of this project and we have taken the steps to appoint a separate committee. The committee will be called THE ISLAND ARTS PRECINT COMMITTEE.
It gives me great pleasure to announce that CIBRA has been successful in appointing Karen Phillips as our chair for this important work. Karen will establish a committee made up of 4 representatives who will work closely with the GCCC.
Karen will provide CIBRA with valuable experience and knowledge having been heavily involved with the original CHEVRON ISLAND TRADERS ASSOCIATION promotional activities, tourism promotions and council liaison.
She brings a wealth of local knowledge and connections, corporate partnerships and branding experience combined with tourism and major events strategy and relationship management to this important role. Her Company has been located on Chevron Island for over 15 years. She will also be part of our everyday committee but her main focus will be to ensure the successful future of the Green Bridge and this cultural walk.
